CAD+ Toolset Community and Educational Package Eligibility Criteria
The Community and Educational packages of CAD+ Toolset are provided free of charge to users who meet the eligibility criteria below. These criteria are published in accordance with, and form part of, the CAD+ Toolset End User Licence Agreement (EULA) presented during installation and registration. Xarial may request reasonable, objectively verifiable information to confirm continuing eligibility, and you must let us know if you stop qualifying for a package you are using.
If you do not meet the criteria for the Community or Educational package, please see the Standard, Professional and Premium editions instead.
Community Package
The Community Package is intended for small organizations. It may be used for commercial purposes, provided the organization meets all of the following criteria at the time of registration and continues to meet them while using the package:
- Annual company revenue of less than AUD $1,000,000 (or the equivalent in local currency); and
- Fewer than 10 employees.
Changes to these criteria
Your eligibility is confirmed for 12 months from the date you register for the Community Package, and is re-verified annually after that.
We may change these criteria from time to time. Changes apply going forward only. If you were eligible when you registered or last re-verified, a change made during that 12-month period will not require you to stop using the Community Package before the period ends, it applies at your next annual re-verification.
This 12-month period relates to eligibility only. It does not limit the term of your licence.
Ceasing to qualify does not affect any perpetual paid licence you hold.
Effective date and grandfathering
The criteria above apply from 1 January 2027.
If you registered for the Community Package before 3 September 2026, you are grandfathered and the criteria above will not apply to you until 1 January 2028 (one year later than for new registrations).
Registrations made on or after 3 September 2026 are subject to the criteria from 1 January 2027.
If your organization no longer qualifies
If your organization grows beyond these thresholds, please contact us at sales@xarial.com to move to a Standard, Professional or Premium licence. We will give you reasonable notice and time to transition before restricting further use.
Educational Package
The Educational Package is available to:
- an accredited educational institution (school, vocational education provider, university or similar); or
- an individual who is currently enrolled as a student at, or employed by, an educational institution.
The Educational Package may be used solely for teaching, learning or academic research, on a strictly non-commercial basis. It must not be used for commercial, production, professional, revenue-generating or client work.
Registering for the Educational Package
When registering, you must:
- register using an eligible educational e-mail address issued by your institution (for example, an address on your institution's own domain, or a recognized academic domain such as
.edu); and - enter the full name of your educational institution in the Company field of the registration form.
Xarial may periodically request reasonable evidence of your institution's accreditation, or your current enrolment or employment, to confirm continuing eligibility.
Trial Licence
A Trial licence is available for evaluation of the Standard, Professional or Premium editions before purchase:
- available once per customer;
- provided solely for internal evaluation and testing;
- valid for 30 days from activation, unless extended in writing by Xarial.
